Wuthering Frights The Skullenia Novels Volume 3 Tony Lewis Books
All the loveablely odd characters from the first two books return as does the humor. The reason I rated this one 3 stars, however, is because this one seemed to take a turn into a classic storyline (with additional characters added) rather than remaining a fully original work.

Wuthering Frights The Skullenia Novels Volume 3 Tony Lewis Books Reviews
Having devoured all 3 of the Skullenia series, I am left wanting more! Excellent work developing the characters and the silliness is delightful. One cautionary observation, however the editing was a bit rough on the 2nd, but the 3rd (sorry about this) was sloppy. I am referring to verbs in the wrong tense, character names not capitalized, words left out, and it being obvious in a few places that you considered two ways of writing a phrase but then they just got mixed together. I have been a voratious reader for over 50 years (uh, yeah, I'm old . . . wanna fight about it?) and an accountant as well as proofreader for 30 years, so please take this as a YOU GO BIG GUY, just slow down a bit before uploading your future work.
Having read the first two books in Tony Lewis's Skullenia series, and receiving a free copy of this third book in exchange for an honest review, I wondered if he could possibly sustain the humour present in Wherewolf and Cup and Sorcery into a third novel. Not only did he succeed in that department, but he also managed to add more 'flesh' (if that's the right word in this case), to the wonderful characters he has created to inhabit his fantasy world. In short, I loved Wuthering Frights, and the wonderful P.C. Gullett and serial suicide attempter, Mandrake are just two of the new characters added to the cast to bring some wonderfully funny dialogue to the story. One small geographical error appeared, if Mr Lewis won't mind me pointing it out. Mexico is not in South America, but is in fact part of the continent of North America, a fact that I know many people seem unaware of! But that one small point takes nothing away from the sheer brilliance of yet another terrific and fast paced adventure in the superbly funny and always entertaining land that is Skullenia. It was also great to see more involvement from Count Jocular in this book, he was sadly missed by me, at least, in book two.
I believe a fourth book is in the pipeline, and all I can say is I will be suffering from severe Skullenia withdrawal symptoms until it appears. Wuthering Frights is yet another comic classic from the pen of this wonderfully talented author!
All the loveablely odd characters from the first two books return as does the humor. The reason I rated this one 3 stars, however, is because this one seemed to take a turn into a classic storyline (with additional characters added) rather than remaining a fully original work.
